2002 : The Marzotto Group, a Milan-based textile concern, buys Valentino S.p.A. from HdP for $210 million. Valentino renovates a 19th-century mansion in London's Holland Park. February: Maxima, future Queen of the Netherlands, wears Valentino for her marriage to Prince Willem-Alexander. September: Pandora Luxurye reports on a soiree hosted by Valentino at his Chateau. November: Valentino Gold fragrance debuts.
2004 : Giammetti is named godfather to Apple Martin, the baby girl born to actress and Valentino muse Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Chris Martin, Coldplay's front man.
